A practice built on more than thirty years of experience — and a genuine belief that good advisory work changes things.
I started my career in East Africa, working in marketing and public relations at a time when those disciplines were still taking shape in the region.
From the beginning, what interested me most was not the campaigns or the press releases. It was the question underneath all of it: why do some organisations earn genuine trust, while others often with greater resources and louder voices do not?
That question has stayed with me throughout my career. From corporate affairs at General Motors in Africa to a communications leadership role with Save the Children across the Asia-Pacific, and senior positions at Australian Unity, Monash University, the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and Ageing Australia, and through a pandemic, major sector reform, and more reputational challenges than I care to list.
The answer, I have found, is consistent. Organisations that earn trust are clear about who they are, honest about what they are trying to do, and disciplined in how they communicate it, especially when it matters most.
That is the work I care about.
After more than three decades inside organisations, I founded Jahazi Agency to do it directly, working as a trusted, independent adviser to leaders and organisations facing complex issues.
I hold a Master of Communications and Media Studies from Monash University, with training in journalism and education.
